It automates the work that pulls educators away from the children: attendance, invoicing and billing, daily records, learning stories, observations, and inspection readiness. Using AI, it also suggests curriculum frameworks and lesson plans, so planning takes seconds rather than evenings.
Founder Dr Wendy Oke, a PhD graduate from Cork University, saw during her research that Europe's childcare sector was growing fast while preschool educators were drowning in administrative and compliance work. TeachKloud was her answer: a platform built by an early childhood professional, for early childhood professionals.
TeachKloud came to us running a template-based hosted platform that served over 300 schools and was full of bugs. We rebuilt it as a robust, multi-interface product, and have continued to develop it since, including Educator Pal, TeachKloud's AI lesson planning assistant.
Project Challenges & Needs
A Fragile Legacy Platform
The existing template-based hosted system was bug-ridden and could not scale with the 300+ schools already relying on it.
Four Products, One System
Management, educators, parents, and professional development each needed a distinct, feature-rich interface built on shared data.
Deep Sector Knowledge Required
Curriculum frameworks, developmental milestones, and Tusla, ECCE, and NCS compliance had to be understood before they could be built.
An Aggressive Delivery Timeline
The rebuild had to reach live settings quickly, without disrupting the schools already running on the old platform.

A child-led, development-focused mobile app giving educators:
- Learning journals, planning, emerging interests, and child profiles
- Photo-first learning stories that can be captured now and completed later
- Attendance tracking linked to the day's activities
- Daily records covering meals, sleep checks, nappies, medication, and temperature
- Risk assessments, checklists, and accident forms
- Instant messaging with parents from the classroom floor
Family Partnership App (Parents)
A parent-facing app that keeps families connected, allowing them to:
- Follow their child's profile, day, and learning stories in real time
- Receive instant notifications and message educators directly
- Translate messages into their home language
- Download and digitally sign records, with read receipts back to the setting
- Comment on updates, add images and videos, and pay bills in app
Educator Pal (AI Planning Assistant)
TeachKloud's AI product, free to TeachKloud customers, which lets educators:
- Generate personalised, open-ended lesson plans in seconds for any topic or theme
- Align plans with Aistear, Montessori, HighScope, Reggio, Te Whāriki, and Common Core.
- Tailor output by age, developmental stage, interests, and additional needs
- Receive assessment questions, diverse learner strategies, and health & safety notes with each plan.
- Draft policies, from safety to admissions.
- Improve recommendations with educator feedback.
